The ValkPVplanner is a user-friendly online tool from Van der Valk Solar Systems, specifically developed for designing and calculating solar panel systems. With this planner, you can effortlessly design mounting systems for both pitched and flat roofs.
What is the ValkPVplanner?
With the ValkPVplanner, you can accurately draw the roof, place solar panels, and select your desired Van der Valk Solar Systems mounting system, such as ValkAce or ValkPitched, depending on the roof type. The tool automatically performs all technical calculations, including:
Wind and snow load
Ballast requirements
Orientation and tilt
Material configuration
One major advantage is the use of high-quality satellite images, allowing you to precisely map the roof and obstacles such as chimneys or dormers. This attention to detail ensures the design matches the real-life situation of your PV project.
The tool also offers great flexibility: you can easily switch between different Van der Valk mounting systems. With the launch of the new ValkAce system – also available through the Libra Energy webshop – you can quickly choose between ValkAce and ValkPitched for pitched roofs. Accessories such as side plates can be added or removed with a single click, depending on your PV project requirements.
After completing the design, you receive a complete project plan with all technical details, including a clear bill of materials.
How does the ValkPVplanner work?
Start a project: Enter the project name and address.
Choose your workflow: Work on a blank canvas, use satellite imagery, or opt for the Simple mode.
Select panel type and environment: Enter wind zone, building height, and roof type (e.g., flat roofs or pitched roofs).
Draw the roof and place panels: Define the roof shape, panel layout (portrait/landscape), tilt angle, and any expansion joints.
Choose mounting system and options: Easily switch between available mounting systems and add accessories such as side plates.
Project finished? The tool automatically generates a full project report and bill of materials.
