How to set up the Wi‑Fi on my GoodWe inverter with the SolarGo app

There are multiple ways to configure Wi‑Fi on a GoodWe inverter, but we recommend starting with the SolarGo app.
Follow this step‑by‑step guide:
1. Install the SolarGo app
- Download and install the SolarGo app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Connect to the inverter network
- Connect to the inverter’s Wi‑Fi network, visible as Solar-WIFIXXXX (the last 4 digits match the serial number). Password: 12345678
- Can’t see this network? Newer inverters use Bluetooth by default. Open the SolarGo app and select Bluetooth instead of Wi‑Fi.
3. Select the inverter in SolarGo
- Find your inverter in the list of available devices.
- Connected via the datalogger’s Wi‑Fi? Choose WLAN, not Bluetooth.
4. Log in
- Log in as owner or installer with the initial password: 1234
Note: On first login, the password will automatically change. Record the new password for the end user!
5. Configure network settings
- Go to Settings > WLAN/LAN
- Enter your router’s SSID (network name) and password. Save the settings.
Important note on 2.4 GHz networks. GoodWe inverters only detect 2.4 GHz networks. If your router broadcasts both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz under the same SSID, the inverter can get confused. If the inverter doesn’t go online after following this guide, test with a mobile hotspot. That helps determine whether it’s a customer network issue.
Troubleshooting – Wi‑Fi reset or reload
With display:
- Press the Enter/GoodWe button to select Wi‑Fi reload
- Hold until “Wi‑Fi reloading” appears
- Even if “Reload failed” shows, it may still succeed — verify the network
- Power off the inverter completely (including the battery)
- Remove the dongle
- Wait 60 seconds
- Reinsert the dongle and power on the inverter
- Reconfigure the Wi‑Fi
Without display:
- Press the Wi‑Fi RESET button on the front of the inverter
- Hold for more than 3 seconds
- Wait until the Wi‑Fi LED blinks twice
- Reconfigure the Wi‑Fi
