BYD HVS versus HVM

The BYD HVM and HVS batteries are popular modular storage systems for solar energy, but they differ in structure and application. HVM is designed for higher capacities and greater flexibility, while HVS offers higher voltages for more efficient inverters. Below is an overview of the key differences.

HVM

  • For larger residential and commercial systems
  • 3 to 8 modules per stack
  • 8.3 kWh – 22.1 kWh per stack
  • Scalable up to 3 stacks in parallel (up to 66.2 kWh)
  • 102 V – 409 V (depending on the number of modules)

HVS

  • For smaller installations with higher voltages
  • 2 to 5 modules per stack
  • 5.1 kWh – 12.8 kWh per stack
  • Scalable up to 3 stacks in parallel (up to 38.4 kWh)
  • 102 V – 512 V (higher maximum voltage possible)
