The reasoning behind our choice of Fronius

Remy Oomens, Head of Product Management at Libra Energy, explains why Fronius has earned a place in our portfolio.
"When evaluating new suppliers, we look beyond the product itself. We focus primarily on the company behind it. Does its vision align with ours? Is there potential for a long-term partnership? And can we trust that the manufacturer will still be around in ten years' time? These are important questions for us. With Fronius, many of these aspects came together.
Fronius is a European manufacturer that has been active in the market for many years and has built a strong position, particularly in Germany and Belgium. They may be somewhat less well known in the Netherlands, but in our neighbouring countries they have established a large installer base and an excellent reputation. We are also noticing an increasing demand for European-made solutions in certain projects. This is especially relevant in larger projects and government-related tenders.
What sets Fronius apart for us is that they not only deliver high-quality products but also possess extensive knowledge and expertise. They employ specialists who can guide and support installers with technical challenges, helping to ensure that the best possible systems are delivered to customers. In addition, we experience Fronius as a reliable company. The people we work with have been part of the organisation for many years. They are not salespeople who move on to a different company every year. That creates continuity and trust.
In many ways, we recognise something of ourselves in Fronius. It is a family-owned company with a long-term focus. The emphasis is not on quick wins or short-term profits, but on stability, reliability, and making decisions that will still prove to be the right ones years from now.

This long-term vision is also reflected in their products. Fronius offers a stable portfolio of well-designed and reliable solutions. When introducing new developments, they also consider compatibility with existing systems. Choices like these demonstrate that innovation is not driven solely by technological advancement, but also by practical applicability. One trend we clearly see is the growing demand for battery storage and backup power solutions. Fronius offers various solutions in this area. What stands out is how clearly they explain the available options. Through comprehensive documentation and easy-to-understand information, they make complex topics accessible. This makes it easier to determine which solution best matches a customer's requirements.
Our partnership with Fronius did not emerge overnight. We first carried out an extensive market analysis and created a shortlist of manufacturers that could be a strong fit for our organisation. Fronius stood out prominently in that process. This was followed by a period of introductions, discussions, and evaluating whether we shared the same vision. Through contacts within the industry, we began conversations with Fronius. Initially online, then at trade fairs, and eventually at their headquarters and manufacturing facility in Austria. Visiting the factory is essential for us. Before entering into a partnership, we want to see for ourselves how products are manufactured and how the organisation operates. Anyone can deliver a convincing sales presentation, but only by walking through the facility and speaking with the people involved can you truly understand the quality and culture of a company.
If I had to describe Fronius in a single sentence, I would say: a family-owned company with a long history, a stable foundation, a commitment to keeping its promises, and a reputation for delivering high-quality products.
What I hope customers take away from this story is the importance of quality and reliability. I hope they recognise the value of European-made solutions and products that are designed to last beyond the warranty period. Ultimately, it is not only about what works today, but about solutions you can continue to rely on in the long term.
