By stacking eight units into a single tower configuration, the residents were able to become almost fully energy self-sufficient during the sunny months. “Although the battery is used less during winter, customers experience clear benefits again from spring onwards,” Rowan says. Even customers with limited technical knowledge respond positively. “The system matches their needs well, and that’s great to see.”

Rowan also highlights the safety of BYD batteries. Thanks to the use of lithium iron phosphate cells instead of cobalt-based chemistry, the fire risk is minimal. “That’s important, especially when installing a battery inside a home,” he explains.
