P1 extension modules for charging station load balancing

The Cedel CED-P1 extension module is used for charging station load balancing. The load balancing function is used for charging stations in combination with a smart meter. Often, the distance between the charging station and the smart meter is too great to use a standard P1 cable, in which case the load balancing function will not work properly. Cedel’s P1 extension modules can be used to connect a charging station to a smart meter up to 100 metres away using an ordinary UTP cable. Load balancing adjusts the charging current of your charging station based on the charging demand. The CED-P1 set comprises a smart meter module, charging station module, two P1 cables and a user manual.

Plug & Play load balancing

To use the extension modules, first connect the smart meter module to the smart meter with a P1 cable. Then connect one end of the network cable to the smart meter module and the other end to the charging station module. Now connect this module to the charging station. The charging station will automatically recognise the smart meter and start load balancing, with no configuration required.
