Charging power that adapts automatically

The amount of power available for EV charging changes throughout the day. That is why Embion EMS continuously monitors the energy situation and automatically adjusts charging power to match. Plenty of solar energy available? It can be used directly to charge electric vehicles. If other energy consumption increases or the grid connection approaches its capacity limit, charging power can automatically be reduced.

The system does not look at the chargers in isolation. Battery storage, energy generation, consumption and EV charging are all taken into account at the same time. This helps prevent unnecessary peaks, makes smarter use of available energy and keeps as much charging capacity available as possible. All automatically, based on what is happening at the site.

Zaptec and Embion EMS join forces

Smart charging just got even smarter. With the new integration between Zaptec and Embion EMS, EV charging becomes part of the complete energy system at a site. Embion EMS continuously looks at the bigger energy picture. It takes current energy consumption, solar generation, battery storage, EV charging demand and available grid capacity into account. Instead of operating separately, charging, generation, storage and consumption work together as one intelligent energy system.

This gives you greater control over both energy and charging capacity. Locally generated energy is used more efficiently, unnecessary peak loads can be avoided and you get more from the grid connection you already have. The solution is also scalable, from a small installation to a site with dozens or even hundreds of charging points.

Earn money with your charging station thanks to ERE certificates

With ERE certificates (Emission Reduction Units), you receive a compensation for every kWh you charge your electric vehicle at home or at your own charging station. This scheme has been introduced to reward CO₂ reduction and applies from 1 January 2026 to both private individuals and businesses with a MID-certified charging station in the Netherlands.

How does it work?

Your charging station generates one ERE certificate for every kWh charged, which you can register and sell. The market price is approximately €0.10 per kWh.

What can you earn per year?

  • An average EV driver charges around 3,000 to 4,000 kWh per year
  • This translates to approximately €300 to €400 per year in ERE revenue
  • If you drive more (e.g. more than 5,000 kWh), this can increase to €500+ per year

Zaptec Go

The Zaptec Go allows you to charge your electric vehicle sustainably, whenever it suits you. It's perfect for home use and no larger than a tablet, making it a space-saving solution. The Zaptec Go is compatible with all electric vehicles and homes, and automatically adjusts its maximum charging power to your vehicle’s capacity. Thanks to its smart design, you can install up to three Zaptec Go chargers at home, and charge up to 10 times faster than with a standard socket.

In addition, the Zaptec Go meets the highest safety standards. It features a built-in Type B residual current device that cuts the power in case of a grounding fault in the vehicle or charging cable. It performs calibrations and self-tests before each charging session and is equipped with multiple internal temperature sensors. The Zaptec Go is always online via Wi-Fi or 4G LTE-M and stays up to date with the latest features and free updates through its dedicated cloud platform, the Zaptec Portal.
